COVID-19 vaccines safe, present yourselves – Buhari tells Nigerians

President Muhammadu Buhari has assured Nigerians of the safety of the COVID-19 vaccine and has urged them to receive the vaccine without fear.

He gave the assurance after he and Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo received the first doses of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine on live television at the State House in Abuja, on Saturday.

Speaking after the vaccine was administered to him, President Buhari described his decision to take the vaccine in public as ‘‘a demonstration of leadership and faith in the safety and efficacy of the vaccines.’

‘‘I have received my first jab and I wish to recommend it to all eligible Nigerians, to do same so that we can be protected from the virus,’’ he said.

‘‘The vaccine offers hope for a safe country, free of coronavirus.

‘‘I similarly urge all eligible Nigerians to present themselves and be vaccinated in accordance with the order of priority already mapped out at the various authorized designated centres ONLY,’’ he added

  2. Nigerians have heard you, and any eligible person may present him or herself for the vaccination of the COVID-19 vaccine

  3. I hope the vaccine won’t have side effects if giving to us because nursing another disease won’t solve the problem.

  4. All those in government should be giving first and other top officers because they are the one traveling from one place to another.
