If my son is abducted, I would rather pray than pay ransom – Gov El-Rufai

Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State has reiterated his decision never to pay ransom to any bandit. He said he would rather pray for his son to make heaven if he is by chance abducted as he has warned them to be careful to avoid being victims.

The governor who spoke in a radio chat on Friday in Kaduna, vowed that his government would not engage in negotiation with bandits troubling the state.

“I mean it and I will say it again here. Even if my son is kidnapped, I will rather pray for him to make heaven instead because I won’t pay any ransom,” the governor said.

He assured that his government would use other means to ensure the release of the remaining abducted students of the Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation, Kaduna.
