Boko Haram leader, Shekau reportedly dead after ISWAP attack

Abubakar Shekau, Leader of the Boko Haram faction, Jama’tu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad (JAS), is reportedly dead.

According to reports from Eons Intelligence, his demise followed an attack by the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP).

ISWAP fighters, led by its commander, Bana Duguri, stormed the Sambisa hideout of Boko Haram and Shekau was said to have blown himself to avoid being captured alive.

This is not the first news about the death of Shekau. If true, ISWAP will likely make an announcement in the coming days.

According to a source, the Nigerian military and intelligence agencies are in touch with the development.

  1. since 10 years ago all you say is false cuz all our security operatives failed to killed just one man…………

  2. If another group of terrorist regroup in sambisa or taking over it, is this not another problem for us

  3. Is sambisa a country where people living there are so powerful that our security agencies can’t fight them
