Hushpuppi: Northern groups want Abba Kyari’s suspension reversed

The Coalition of Northern Groups has faulted the suspension of embattled Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mr Abba Kyari following reports by a U.S court linking him to internet fraudster, Ramon Abbas, a.k.a Hushpuppi.

Kyari was also suspended by the Police Service Commission on August 1

However spokesman of the Coalition comprising of civil society organisations and non-governmental bodies, Abdulazeez Sulaiman stated that both the Nigerian police authorities and the FBI breached Kyari‘s fundamental rights by not allowing him to be heard before taking the hasty actions against him.

The group demanded an immediate review of the suspension and also asked that the ongoing investigation with the FBI be transferred to the Nigerian Intelligence Agency
