Reveal how I made money from Leah Sharibu’s ordeal or remain silent – Omokri blasts Garba Shehu

Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri has challenged the Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu to reveal evidence of him (Reno) making money from the ordeal of the abducted Dapchi school girl, Leah Sharibu.

Garba Shehu had in his reply to Omokri’s earlier challenge asking him to spend a weekend in Borno State and get $50k, accused him of making money from the ordeal of Leah Sharibu who is currently in the captivity of the Boko Haram insurgents.

Reno’s challenge followed Mr Garba’s claim that the President deserves appreciation for tackling insecurity across the country.

Reacting, Reno urged the spokesman of President Buhari to come up with evidence and make it public the proof he has for his earlier comment. He further stated that if the Spokesman believes his principal deserves credit for tackling Insecurity then he should accept his challenge regardless of his “bloodmen”.

He said, “If you have evidence that I have made money from Leah Sharibu’s ordeal, please expose it. You have access to the media.

“Alternatively, if any individual, church, foundation, government or country has given me even one kobo for Leah, please speak now, or forever remain silent.

“Leah Sharibu’s father, Nathan, did a video denouncing your false allegation the last time you made this allegation last year. Rather than make money from Leah, I wrote a book about her, which inspired a BBC Documentary, and got the attention of the US government, and donated all the proceeds to her parents, plus £4000.

“Having said that, the current issue is not about Leah Sharibu. The issue is that you said, “Buhari deserves credit for tackling insecurity”. If you really believe what you said, Garba, then I challenge you to go to Bama in Borno, for a weekend, alone, without security. And I will pay you $50,000.

“But if even you believe that my money is ‘blood money, then do it because you believe “Buhari deserves credit for tackling insecurity”.
