Insecurity: Involve the youths in all facets of the economy – Obasanjo tells Uzodinma

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has advised Imo state Governor, Hope Uzodinma on how he can get rid of “bad boys” and end insecurity in the state.

Obasanjo during a dinner organised by Uzodimma to mark his 85th birthday in Owerri on Wednesday, urged the Governor to ensure an increase of youth participation in all facets of the economy in the state.

According to a statement by Uzodinma’s Chief Press Secretary, Oguwike Nwachukwu, Obasanjo appealed to the governor not to ignore the youths regardless of how their behaviour may seem.

He said: “Hope is your name, it means a lot because life without hope is meaningless.

“There are three categories of bad boys: those genuinely frustrated and angry, those who are being sponsored by politicians for political vendetta, and those who by nature are criminally minded.

“We have to find a solution if insecurity remains a problem in our society. And for the genuinely frustrated and militants, we have to learn to deal with them by talking to them.”
