24-year-old final year student gives birth to Quintuplets in Abia amid ASUU Strike

A 400-level student of the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, Abia, Oluomachi Nwojo, has delivered a set of quintuplets, two boys and three girls

The 24-year-old Environmental Management student delivered the babies on Monday at the Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia, through caesarean section. She has however called for assistance in taking care of her children

This is coming as students in Nigerian public universities approach the eighth month of the ASUU strike

“This is my first delivery, and I am grateful to God for making me a partaker of this wonderful blessing.

“I believe God knows the best for my children; I am feeling fine and gradually recuperating from the birth of my babies,” she said.

“At this stage, I need assistance to buy milk and other necessities for the babies,’’ she said.

Oluomachi’s mother, Mrs Priscilla Nwojo while expressing gratitude to God for the safe delivery also appealed for the assistance of well-meaning Nigerians to support in nursing the babies.

She called on the wife of Abia State Governor, Mrs. Okezie Ikpeazu to come to the aid of the family.

  1. I hope the government will come to her aid because with this economy, taking care of these babies will be difficult
