Governor Ortom’s convoy involved in an accident, lawmakers injured

Governor Samuel Ortom’s convoy was involved in an accident on Friday morning, January 20. The accident occurred while his convoy was heading for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship campaign rally in Utokon community, Ado LGA of the state.

The driver of a branded bus fully loaded with PDP supporters lost control and rammed into three vehicles; a Jeep, a security vehicle, and another bus in the convoy.

Three lawmakers of the state house of assembly were injured but there were no deaths

The lawmakers were taken to the hospital and are in “stable condition”. The motorcade in the convoy consisted of the state’s deputy governor, Engr Benson Abounu; Senator Abba Moro; House of Representatives members, and House of Assembly members from Benue South district; among other top government and party officials in the state.The
