Being a spokesman does not give you the right to abuse – Bishop Kukah

The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, Bishop Mathew Kukah, has berated spokespersons of the presidential candidates. He stated that being a spokesperson does not give them the right to abuse

The cleric made this known in an interview on Arise TV. He said some spokespersons of the presidential candidates are behaving as if they have received licenses to be foulmouthed and speak disrespectfully to people.

He said; ‘’Being a spokesman does not give you the right to abuse. These people are behaving as if they have received licenses to be foulmouthed, to speak disrespectfully to people. There is what you call decorum. When you are choosing your spokesperson, that is actually your messenger and the political actors must also take full responsibility, fairly and squarely, for the nature of the messengers that they choose to deliver their messages.  because in many respects, the way and manner that some of these spokespersons conduct themselves puts a lot of people off.”
