Organ harvesting: Okupe reacts as court finds Ekweremadu, wife guilty

Former Director General of the Labour Party Presidential Campaign Organisation, Doyin Okupe, has commiserated with the family of the Ekweremadus over a UK court ruling convicting former Nigerian Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu

Ekweremady, his wife and a Nigerian doctor Obinna Obeta, were found guilty of attempted organ harvesting of a Nigerian trafficked to Britain to provide a kidney for their ailing daughter.

Reacting to this, Okupe in a tweet prayed for God’s intervention

He wrote; “My heart this morning goes out to Ekweremadu, his wife and unfortunate family. I cannot act as a judge in this matter.

“But I pray that God of the universe who rules over the affairs of men will intervene in this sad development. God, help us in this time of trouble as you promised.”
