Timipre Sylva resigns as minister of state for petroleum resources to pursue Governorship ambition

Minister of state for petroleum resources, Timipre Sylva has resigned from his ministerial position to pursue his Governorship ambition.

According to reports from the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) Abuja on Friday, sources say the minister has submitted his resignation letter to President Muhammadu Buhari.

President Muhammadu Buhari’s Special Assistant on Digital Communications, Bashir Ahmad confirmed Mr Sylva’s resignation.

Mr Sylva has only governed Bayelsa for one term and has constitutional rights to contest for another term.
