I endured Sexual Abuse for Seven Years to get an education – Nigerian Lawyer, Oluwatoyin Falaiye

According to a recent conversation with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Nigerian lawyer Oluwatoyin Falaiye revealed that she suffered sexual abuse for seven years in order to receive an education.

Falaiye disclosed that she was first raped by her neighbor’s son at the age of 10, and then two years later, her aunt’s husband and her foster father began to sexually abuse her.

She shared that the abuse continued for seven years until she started menstruating and had occasional days off. Falaiye stated that she was threatened with expulsion from school and being sent back to her village if she reported the abuse to anyone. She further noted that enduring sexual abuse was the price she had to pay for her education.
