Senate Presidency: I am an uncommon transformer, I will not like to be judged by ministerial appointment for Niger Delta – Akpabio

Senator Godswill Akpabio, in his bid for the senate presidency, has requested that Nigerians refrain from judging him solely based on his tenure as Minister of Niger Delta Affairs. Instead, he prefers to be evaluated based on his extensive experience as a lawyer for 36 years, a commissioner for six years, and a governor for eight years.

Speaking to journalists recently, the former Governor of Akwa Ibom state emphasized that he has remained unchanged and has consistently been an agent of transformation wherever he has served. He expressed his reluctance to be judged solely on his ministerial appointment for the Niger Delta, a region known for its challenges. Akpabio believes that his track record as a lawyer and his previous positions in public service should serve as the basis for assessing his capabilities and achievements.

“I do know that I have not changed in any way. I am somebody God has given the opportunity to be an uncommon transformer wherever I go. I will not like to be judged by ministerial appointment for Niger Delta, which everybody knows is a problematic place. But I would like to be judged by my record as a lawyer of 36 years, commissioner of six years and a governor of eight years, he said
