Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State faced criticism on Twitter after stating in a tweet that his state is a “Christian state” and would uphold its Christian values.

The governor’s official photo portrait was accompanied by the following message: ‘’Rivers State is a Christian State, and God is our foundation. We shall govern with the fear of God and stay strong to our Christian values of trust, faith, love, care and sacrifice.”

Some Twitter users found the governor’s tweet unnecessary, arguing that he should prioritize effective governance and serving the residents of the state instead of emphasizing religious matters.
