20-year-old second-year student at the Federal University, Wukari, stabbed to death by cultists

According to reports, an unidentified cult group has allegedly stabbed to death a 20-year-old second-year student at the Federal University, Wukari, in Taraba State. The incident, which occurred on Thursday night, has caused tensions within the university premises and neighboring communities

The victim, identified as Mark Shagari, was studying Biological Science at the university. He resided off-campus and was reportedly attacked and fatally stabbed by suspected cultists in Wukari town.

A staff member of the university, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed the incident and expressed shock at the tragic murder of the young student. While unable to provide detailed information, the staff member mentioned that Shagari’s body was found close to his residence in Wukari town after the stabbing.

Fellow students, upon learning of the student’s death, called on the school authorities to enhance security measures within the university premises. They also urged the state government to collaborate with the university in identifying and apprehending those responsible for the student’s killing.

In response to the incident, Ashu Agya, the spokesperson for the institution, stated that security forces have initiated investigations into the brutal murder. The university assures that every effort will be made to uncover the circumstances surrounding the student’s assassination.
