The president has not approved salary review for political office holders – Dele Alake

In a statement released on Thursday, Dele Alake, the special adviser to President Bola Tinubu on special duties, communications, and strategy, clarified that there has been no approval from President Tinubu regarding a salary review for political office holders and judicial officers.

Alake emphasized that the responsibility of reviewing and adjusting remuneration rests with the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation, and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) as mandated by the constitution. He further dismissed the news of a salary increase at this juncture as false information or “fake news.”
