BREAKING: Fuel price increases to N617 per litre in Abuja

The price of petrol has surged to approximately N617 per litre.

NNPC filling stations in Abuja along the Kubwa expressway and Utako confirmed the price adjustment from N539 to N617 per litre.

Elder Chinedu Okoronkwo, the national president of the Independent Petroleum Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), confirmed this development. He explained that fuel prices would continue to fluctuate based on market forces and changes in the foreign exchange market due to the removal of fuel subsidies.

Amid speculation of a nationwide upward review of fuel pump prices, it’s worth recalling that the removal of fuel subsidy in June by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government had led to a significant increase in petrol prices from N190 to over N500 per litre.
