”We wouldn’t ever monitor a record for the longest marathon crying” – GWR reacts as man becomes blind after engaging in 100 hrs cry-a-thon

The Guinness World Records (GWR) has distanced itself from an attempt made by a Nigerian, Tembu Ebere, to set a record for crying continuously for 100 hours.

Ebere encountered some adverse effects during his endeavor to achieve the longest-crying individual world record. He reported experiencing temporary blindness, severe headaches, puffy eyes, and a swollen face due to constant crying, with the temporary blindness lasting for 45 minutes.

However, in response to the situation, the Guinness World Records (GWR) has clarified that it does not recognize or endorse such a record attempt.

In a tweet on Thursday, GWR stressed that they did not approve the attempt and would not be able to monitor such a record.

“Just to quell some recent rumours, we wouldn’t ever monitor a record for the longest marathon crying. Here’s what can be monitored by our team”, the body wrote.
