Presidential Tribunal: The court must do justice, rather ‘let the heavens fall’ – Atiku

Alhaji Abubakar Atiku, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has urged the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal to exhibit the courage needed to administer substantial justice in response to his petition seeking the annulment of Ahmed Bola Tinubu’s victory in the February 25 election.

On Sunday, Atiku emphatically stated that Tinubu’s warnings of dire consequences should not deter the tribunal from removing him as Nigeria’s president due to overwhelming electoral fraud that led to his ascension to office.

In his final written submission, Atiku dismissed Tinubu’s threats as hollow tactics aimed at intimidating the tribunal and preventing the rightful examination of justice in the petition challenging Tinubu’s election.

Atiku appealed to the tribunal to draw upon the same level of courage exhibited in previous Supreme Court judgments to address his petition against Tinubu, disregarding the intimidating warning of potential widespread chaos issued by Tinubu to evade justice.

The former Vice President firmly asserted that Tinubu no longer possesses the moral and legal authority to hold the office of President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as he had admitted to a punitive forfeiture of $406,000 in a case linked to narcotics and money laundering.
