Presidential Tribunal to deliver judgement September 6, to permit live broadcast

The eagerly awaited ruling from the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPT) is scheduled to be announced on Wednesday, September 6th. This information was shared by Umar Bangari, the Registrar of the Court of Appeal, during an interview with Channels Television on Monday, September 4. He mentioned that the proceedings will be available for live broadcast for interested television networks.

The Labour Party (LP), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), along with their respective presidential candidates, have lodged petitions with the tribunal in an attempt to invalidate President Bola Tinubu’s victory in the 2023 presidential election.

Additionally, verdicts are anticipated from election tribunals in 25 states regarding disputes related to governorship, National Assembly, and state assembly elections.

It’s noteworthy that the results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) are being contested in no less than 25 states among the 28 states where elections were held.
