Renowned Nollywood actress Peggy Ovire has responded to comedian Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori, professionally known as Kiekie, and her perspective on women sharing expenses with their partners.

Kiekie, in a recent interview with media personality Toke Makinwa, firmly expressed her stance that as a married woman, she cannot reside in a house without contributing to the rent.

In a video that has sparked controversy on social media, the comedienne elaborated that sharing financial responsibilities with one’s husband fosters mutual respect, ensuring an equal distribution of assets in case of divorce.

Taking to the comment section of the widely shared video, Ovire said: “Just say you earn more than your husband Kiekie, then bill sharing is a must. It is my husband’s responsibility to pay the bills especially since he can afford it. Mine is to take care of the home and be there for emergency cases. My man won’t even let me pay jack.”
