Mohbad: Splash FM, Agidigbon FM ban Naira Marley’s songs

Certain radio stations in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, have prohibited the broadcast of songs by Afeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, across their platforms. This action comes as a response to the ongoing investigation into the mysterious passing of Lagos-based musician, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, also known as Mohbad.

The decision, communicated on Monday, was made by stations such as Splash 105.5 FM and Agidigbo 88.7 FM. Splash FM, through an internal memo sent to its staff, emphasized that the move was motivated by the sensitive circumstances surrounding the musician’s demise.

“In view of the sensitive nature around the death of Mohbad and the criminal procedure the police have commenced, I will urge us all to exercise discretion.

“To this effect, Naira Marley’s songs have become NTBB (Not to be Broadcast) on our stations until further notice. This is with immediate effect,” the statement said.
