Presidency holding Nnamdi Kanu, not Supreme Court – IPOB lawyer, Ejimakor

Aloy Ejimakor, the Special Counsel to Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), pointed out on Friday that it is the Presidency not the Supreme Court that is responsible for Nnamdi Kanu’s ongoing detention.

He emphasized this while highlighting that the Federal Government cannot justify the continued detention of Kanu, especially following the release of the Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Igboho.

Igboho recently regained freedom after two years in Beninese prison when he fled Nigeria due to a declaration by the Department of State Service, DSS. The two agitators were arrested at almost the same time while Igboho has been released, Nnamdi Kanu is still in detention

According to Ejimakor; “The persisting incarceration of MAZI NNAMDI KANU has become more unsustainable with the release of SUNDAY IGBOHO, especially as it was done with the support of Yoruba leaders & Tinubu (@officialABAT). To be sure, it’s the Presidency that is holding #MNK, not the Supreme Court.”
