Custody battle: Court Issues Media Personality, Do2dtun a restraining order from making derogatory posts about Singer, D’banj

Justice Emmanuel Iyanna, the Chief District Court Judge in the Federal Capital Territory at Wuse Zone 2, Abuja, has issued a restraining order against the on-air personality, Kayode Oladotun (known as Do2dtun). This order prevents Do2dtun from making defamatory posts about the singer Oladapo Oyebanjo, also known as D’banj, on any social media platform or elsewhere.

Additionally, the court has instructed the Deputy Inspector of Police, Force Intelligence Bureau, to investigate a criminal complaint filed by D’banj against Do2dtun within a two-week timeframe and report back to the court. This injunction was granted on October 18, 2023, in response to an application filed by D’banj, seeking to stop Do2dtun from making malicious and defamatory posts about him on social media.

This legal action comes amid a dispute between the two parties, and Do2dtun’s recent social media demands for access to his children, who are in the custody of his estranged wife, Taiwo Oyebanji, D’banj’s sister. In 2021, Taiwo filed for divorce, citing alleged emotional abuse, forced abortion, and domestic violence by Do2dtun as the reasons for the separation. Do2dtun has claimed that he was denied access to his daughters, while Taiwo asserts that he knows how and where to see them.
