Why I became enemies with my Father-in-Law – Mohbad’s wife, Omowunmi reveals

Omowunmi Aloba, the spouse of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, also recognized as Mohbad, has shared the reasons behind her estrangement from her father-in-law.

She clarified that Mohbad’s father suspected her of causing a rift between himself and Mohbad, which led to their strained relationship.

While testifying at the Lagos coroner inquest on Tuesday, Omowunmi disclosed that her association with her father-in-law, Oladimeji Aloba, worsened following the birth of her son, Liam.

She informed the coroner, Magistrate Adedayo Shotobi, that Mohbad’s father grew upset with her because Mohbad chose not to conduct Liam’s naming ceremony in Ikorodu.

According to her; “I used to have a very good relationship with my father-in-law before the birth of my son, Liam. In fact, I used to invite him to our house on many occasions.

“But because Mohbad was angry with him over some of the things he was doing and his refusal to hold our son’s naming ceremony in Ikorodu, he became angry with me, thinking I was the one behind it all.

“So he became my enemy and was not talking to me like before.”
