Edo 2024: It’s time we took our place at the table, so we can shake it – Female LP guber aspirant calls for more women participation in politics

Dr. Loretta Oduware Ogboro-Okor, a female contender in the Edo 2024 gubernatorial race, has advocated for increased participation of women in partisan politics.

Loretta, who is vying for the Labour Party ticket to run for the highest office in the state, expressed concern that many Nigerian women find themselves on the sidelines during election periods.

The aspirant emphasized that it is now the moment for women to assert their presence in the realm of politics. Oduware Ogboro-Okor conveyed this message shortly after publicly declaring her intention to compete in the Edo 2024 governorship election at the Labour Party secretariat in Benin on Monday.

“A lot of women are always at the back door, it is time we took our place in the political space; we have to be at the table, so that we can shake it.

“We thank all our fathers who are standing with us to bring light to the state, we are happy that our fathers are ready to support us,” she said.
