I am not perfect, Please forgive me – Wike begs Rivers people over feud with Fubara

The former Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has publicly apologized to the residents of Rivers State for his earlier imposition of Siminalayi Fubara as his successor. In the 2023 general election, Wike had endorsed Fubara as his preferred candidate for the gubernatorial position in Rivers State.

Despite initially falling out with Fubara and President Bola Tinubu intervening to reconcile them, Wike acknowledged his error in compelling the choice of Fubara on the people during a recent address to his followers in Rivers State.

“I’m not to say I’m perfect or that every decision I’ve taken is right. I’m a human,” he said.

“I may have made decisions that may not be palatable to everybody but in my position I was influenced to accept it.

“And you accepted it and it turned out to be bad, pls forgive me. Forgive me,” the minister said.
