No one would dare attempt to kidnap or mark me for assassination – Oluwo of Iwo

The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba AbduraRasheed Akanbi, has stated that he is impervious to kidnapping or assassination attempts by criminals.

Akanbi clarified that his security is not dependent solely on traditional deities, thus rendering him immune to such threats.

Addressing journalists at his palace, the monarch emphasized the importance for traditional rulers to place their trust in the Almighty God for protection.

He expressed concerns that traditional rulers who persist in relying on deities risk tarnishing the dignity of their thrones.

According to Akanbi: “I am telling you right here that no one would dare attempt to kidnap or mark me for assassination.

“I am covered by God’s protection, not any deity or gods. I am using this opportunity to call on my colleague monarchs to stop putting their hopes on deities and return everything to the almighty God whom they represent.”
