Eko Ako shared on Facebook that he didn’t have a white wedding because he views it as not aligned with African cultural values. He emphasized that proposals involving kneeling and white weddings are not obligatory in African culture.

Despite opting out of a white wedding, he’s been happily married for 16 years with four children. He believes that once parents bless a marriage in the presence of kinsmen, it’s sufficient, drawing parallels to biblical weddings that weren’t officiated by Jesus or priests but were blessed in accordance with Jewish traditions.
