I spent over N2m on our wedding but my ex-wife returned N1,000 as Bride Price – Israel DMW
Israel Afeare, also known as Israel DMW, the Logistics Manager for Davido, has disclosed that his estranged wife, Sheila, refunded only N1,000 as the bride price despite their wedding costing over N2 million.
He made this revelation while responding to his ex-wife’s assertion that she had returned the bride price. During an Instagram live session with popular media personality Daddy Freeze, Israel DMW mentioned that his ex-wife transferred the N1,000 refund via bank transfer.
Israel DMW argued that the bride price should have been returned to his family since he wasn’t the one who made the payment. He emphasized the importance of his ex-wife properly returning the bride price.
Furthermore, Israel DMW emphasized that only a Federal High Court can dissolve their marriage.
On his Instagram story, he wrote: “Kindly return my bride price in a proper way. You can’t transfer it directly to me through an alert. I was never the one who paid it directly. My family did, and it was directly by hand. We married under the acts, and it is only a Federal High Court, who has the statutory powers to get it dissolved after 2 years.”
