Bandit with 3000 followers on Tiktok displays ransom money (video)

A suspected terrorist has allegedly been spotted in a viral video flaunting money purportedly obtained as ransom from victims, which was then uploaded on TikTok, a popular social networking platform.

The video was shared by Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency expert and security analyst based around Lake Chad, through a series of posts on his X handle on Monday.

Makama claimed that the account’s user has amassed over 3000 followers, pointing out that some of them are bandits who openly display firearms and are clad in military or police attire.

He further expressed dismay over the lack of restrictions on the TikTok platform, which he believes provides a platform for insurgents to propagate their terror campaigns unchecked.

He wrote: “Audacity: Bandit on Tiktok flaunting and showing off ransom money he collected from his victims.

“The user of the account has 3000 followers, some of them are bandits who openly show off their rifles and are dressed in military or police uniforms.

“Tiktok platform has given room for insurgents to promote their campaign of terror without being restricted.”
