Don’t say what you can’t defend – Police PRO warns, says it could be criminal
The Nigeria Police Force spokesperson, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has issued a cautionary statement to Nigerians regarding their social media activities. Adejobi emphasized the importance of being able to substantiate comments made online.
Highlighting the Cybercrime Prohibition Act of 2015, Adejobi stressed that individuals may face legal consequences for making unsupported claims or comments on social media.
He warned that the police are actively pursuing individuals who engage in reckless or sarcastic online behavior, regardless of their status or affiliations.
