Our teachers are aware but they don’t act – Students of Lead British School speak about bullying at the school after several bullying videos went viral

Students from Lead British School in Abuja have disclosed that bullying is an everyday occurrence within their school environment, and despite being aware, their teachers fail to take any action to address it.

This revelation comes following the emergence of distressing videos depicting students bullying and physically assaulting a fellow student, Namtira Bwala, with allegations of romantic involvement. Additional footage showcasing other instances of bullying within the school has also surfaced.

In an interview with Punch, students have expressed their frustrations, stating that they regularly report such incidents to their teachers, yet no measures are taken to address the situation. Furthermore, they have revealed instances where teachers have witnessed these acts of bullying firsthand but have chosen not to intervene.

“And some teachers were watching them and they didn’t do anything. There was one time they poured cold water on us, they said

The students told the reporters that the reason the school won’t grant them entrance is because they are guilty.

They said: “They are not allowing you guys inside? That’s because they are guilty. They have been acting like nothing happened.”
