Buhari doesn’t want Buratai to face ICC – Deji Adeyanju

Human rights activist, Deji Adeyanju has expressed that President Muhammadu Buhari is doing everything possible to ensure former Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen Tukur Buratai doesn’t face prosecution at the International Criminal Court.

On Thursday, President Buhari nominated Buratai, who has been accused of overseeing extrajudicial killings by the army during his tenure, as ambassadors-designate.

Reacting to this development, Adeyanju stated that Buhari’s plan to shield Buratai from prosecution will fail.

He wrote:

“Buhari is doing everything possible to ensure Buratai doesn’t go to ICC. By conferring on him diplomatic immunity, he seeks to shield him from the consequences of his action but this will fail in the long run.”

  1. President buhari will completely fail if that is his thought not to allow him to face brutality that he has infiltrated on Nigerians.

  2. President should allow him rest and face the international criminal court if he later invited to say something.
