Aguma vs Amaechi: Faction of Rivers APC suspends Amaechi

A faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State loyal to Igo Aguma has suspended the Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi for anti-party activities.

The faction of the party in a statement signed by the media adviser to Aguma, Livingstone Wechie stated that Amaechi’s suspension from the party by the state executives followed his earlier suspension at the ward level.

The statement noted that the State Executive Caretaker Committee ratified the decision of the State Disciplinary Committee of the party which looked into Amaechi’s suspension by Ward 8, Ikwerre Local Government Area where he hails from.

The Amaechi faction had over the weekend, suspended Senator Magnus Abe, Igo Aguma, Livingstone Wechie, Wogu Boms, and all caretaker committee leaders inaugurated by Aguma.

The statement by the Aguma faction further stated that the expulsion of Chief Victor Giadom and the suspension of Senator Chief Andrew Uchendu from the party have been referred to the disciplinary committee for further action.

  1. faction in a party system always lead to the gradation of the party please there is need to look into this condition and put a stop to it for if the party must move forward

  2. Igo aguma is a confused man and the opposition has been using him and maginus to destroy the APC in Rivers state. He has no power to suspend the honorable minister.

    They are just like carmelions. You can’t say the color they will have at any point in time
    This faction suspends this faction and the other faction does the same thing against the other faction
    Is this not funny. So funny
    These people should go and settle and stop disturbing us with all these their unnecessary actions
    We have more important things to deliberate on bedeviling this nation

  4. This could be similar to what is happening in Cross River North any political party that go into faction there is great tendency that the party may fall because it is not very right

  5. Is not meaningful, amechi did not elect in any political post, is been given an appointment. So suspending him make no difference.
