Marriage Scandal: We’re Reviewing Allegations Against Our MD, Nuru — FCMB

The Board of Directors of the First City Monument Bank has said it is currently reviewing allegations of unethical conduct against its Managing Director, Adam Nuru.

Nuru has been at the centre of a marriage scandal involving Moyo Thomas, a former employee of the bank, and her late husband, Tunde Thomas.

A petition initiated by friends of the deceased, on Thursday had alleged that Tunde died of depression after discovering that his supposed two children with Moyo belong to the FCMB MD.

It also called on the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to sack Nuru, while demanding a comprehensive investigation into the matter.

“This is a case of gross misconduct based on ethical grounds and an unjustifiable economic oppression by the elite (Adam Nuru) against the underprivileged in the society,” the petition, which has already garnered over 700 signatures, reads.

“The MD has been doing everything possible to sweep this case under the carpet. We implore the Central Bank of Nigeria, as the apex regulator, and the board of FCMB to investigate this for the integrity of the bank and Nigerian banking industry.”

But in a statement sent to SaharaReporters on Friday, FCMB Group Head, Corporate Affairs, Diran Olojo, said the bank was aware of the allegations making the rounds against its MD.

He, however, said the bank’s board of directors had already commenced a review into the matter, adding that its findings would be disclosed in due course.

“We are aware of several stories circulating across several media platforms about our bank’s Managing Director, Adam Nuru, a former employee Ms Moyo Thomas and her deceased ex husband, Mr Tunde Thomas,” the statement read.

“While this is a personal matter, the tragedy of the death of Mr Tunde Thomas and the allegations of unethical conduct, require the bank’s board to conduct a review of what transpired, any violations of our code of ethics and the adequacy of these code of conduct ethics. This will be done immediately.

“We enjoin all our stakeholders to bear with us as we conduct this review and to please respect the various families involved.

“Our Board of Directors are reviewing all aspects of this report and once they are done with their review, we will revert to you.”

  1. Hmmm. This is a serious matter because it has taken someone’s life, the bank should stop saying its a personal matter and pursue the case. This MDs I reserve my comments

  2. Its no longer news that bosses sleep with their employees who for fear of losing such plumb jobs succumb to their blackmail. The banking institution should get to the root of this matter especially as the husband to the victim died due to circumstances connected to this infidelity
What about the woman, the employee. is she aware that her action led to her husbands untimely death. she must be a very wicked human being to her been committing adultery with her boss and still go home to her matrimonial home pretending everything is ok. There’s nothing hidden under the sun. Before it were nurses that are seen in this infidelity saga because of night duty engagements but female bankers have since taken over from them. You will see a female banker coming home from work by 10pm or later and even work on weekend. I winder the kind work they are doing when we have counting machines and other gagdets to fasten their work for them. There’s one of such female workers in my area, and everyday her boss or colleague at work brings her home late night and they will stay in the car chatting and doing all kind of rubbish before the lady alight from the car. And this lady is married to an army officer who is away on an official duty with two kids who is being taken care by a maid. How can this army man know the extra marital things the so called wife is doing at his back. How sure is he that the kids are his blood. its a strange world

  4. This matter needs urgent attention and they should not cover or sweep it under the MD atrocity, this is saddened indeed.

  5. The incident is pathetic to hear, men are also wicked when you have your own wife. He should immediately brought to book if guilty.

  6. They should quickly round up their investigations and they should not hesitate to release the findings to the public.

  7. You better be and also publish the verdict for the whole world to know what that callous man and his mistress did not an innocent soul….
