“Nigeria could have gone up in flames if Jonathan did not concede” – Reno Omokri says following the invasion of US Capitol Hill by Trump’s supporters
Former Presidential spokesman, Reno Omokri has reacted to the invasion of the US Capitol Hill by staunch supporters of Donald Trump. Using the United States present predicament as an example, Reno noted that Nigerians need appreciate what former President Goodluck Jonathan did in 2015 when he conceded the presidential election and congratulated President Buhari.
According to him, if Jonathan did not concede, Nigeria could have gone up in flames adding that his power of love was greater than his love for power.
He wrote;
”What is currently happening in the US should cause those who never appreciated what Jonathan did to have a rethink. Nigeria could have gone up in flames if Jonathan did not concede. Not only did he concede, he did so while the results were still being collated.
“He then addressed the country on the same day, in a national broadcast and urged his supporters to accept the results of the election. Jonathan had staunch supporters. But his power of love was greater than his love for power.
“Muhammadu Buhari lost three elections and never conceded. In 2011, his supporters unleashed terror on Nigeria and hundreds died. It is now that Nigerians and the world will appreciate the man who said “my ambition is not worth the blood of any citizen”. May God bless Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

Idea if he hadn’t considered that defeat Nigeria would have been even worse compared to how things used to be here in this country
That is and infact he is a man of God and good person its now that we know his worth when he is no longer in power….
May Almighty God continue blessing him for doing that if not we would have been saying other things today.
At the moment we appreciate him and we will continue appreciating forever because he did a great job in that aspect despite he knows that he didn’t win the election but he didn’t force himself on us.
Jonathan has put that behind and he has move on with his life, therefore, stop disturbing the former president Jonathan.
