I will sue Obaseki if kidnapping and killings continue in Edo – Activist Eholor
Human rights activist, Patrick Eholor has threatened to drag Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki to court over the spate of insecurity in the state.
According to him it is becoming worrisome that inhabitants of the state are now living at the mercy of hoodlums over robbery, kidnapping and cult clashes which has led to loss of lives since October last year, he said it has never been as bad as it is now.
According to the president of one love foundation; ”Edo as a state is now being hijacked by hoodlums who have continued to operate freely as robbers, kidnappers or cultist. People are being robbed on daily basis, POS operators, market women at various quarters, drivers and passengers are left to their faith. We have never had it bad like this as a state.
“Nigerians should know their rights, especially my Edo people. If anybody is killed or kidnapped again in Edo State, I will sue the governor because he collects security votes. So I will ask him what he is using the security votes for, because it is a constitutional matter, very clear that the government is supposed to protect us as citizens.
“All we want is a safe Edo State where investors can come in and do business any day, anytime. We need jobs to be created for our teeming youths. Politics aside, the governor should do better,” he added.
You don’t put all blame on government beside we are alll the government.
We can only solicit for peaceful co- existence of our state
The insecurities in this is beyond explanation, if a state government could not protect the citizens of the state who will?
The present administration should stand up to their responsibility without leaving it for the citizens to carried out for them.
He should sue him wether he is going to stand up to his responsibility, I don’t know what the governor is using the security vote for?
This time around insecurities have now taking over the country here and there which the citizens are now fear to go on their normal way.
you sueing him does nothing for him cuz immunities cover him but it will tarnish his image..
