Nigeria has failed in democracy, constitutionalism – Ezekwesili

Former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili has expressed the need for restructuring of the country following the way the country is currently being run.

Speaking at the ‘Restructuring Summit’ organised by the Restructuring Actualisation Movement in Abuja on Thursday, the former Minister noted that Nigeria had failed in the practice of democracy, federalism, and constitutionalism.

She also noted that restructuring was the only way to save the nation.

Ezekwesilli called for a people-oriented constitution, arguing that the 1999 Constitution was no longer serving the people.
