Benue won’t surrender to criminals – Ortom says

Governor of Benue state, Samuel Ortom has vowed that the state will not surrender to criminals. He said this following the murder of Terkura Suswam, elder brother to ex-Governor, Senator Gabriel Suswam

Ortom promised that his killers will be apprehended and brought to justice.

Terkura Suswam, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Ashitech Group of Companies, was reportedly shot dead by gunmen at a petrol station Tuesday night in Anyiin, Logo.

Reacting to the attack and death, Ortom in a statement by Terver Akase, chief press secretary to the Governor consoled with the family of the deceased.

The governor also assured security operatives in the state of maximum support to apprehend the killers and ensure that justice is served.

“The killers of Chief Terkura Suswam, elder brother to the Senator representing Benue North East, Senator Gabriel Suswam, must be apprehended and brought to justice,” he said.

“The governor said his administration will give security operatives maximum support to ensure that killers of Dr Suswam are arrested and made to face the consequences of their action.

“Gov. Ortom stresses that his administration will not surrender Benue to criminals, and gives assurance that killers and kidnapers operating in Sankera axis of the State won’t go unpunished.

“The governor sympathised with Sen. Suswam and the rest of the family, as well as the entire people of Logo Local Government Area over the painful death of Chief Terkura Suswam.

“He prayed God to grant the deceased eternal rest and his family the strength to bear the loss.”
