”I feel good”- Nigerian doctor who was the first to receive COVID19 vaccine shares his experience

A doctor of the National Hospital, Abuja, Dr Cyprian Ngong who was the first Nigerian to receive the AstraZeneca/Oxford COVID19 vaccine in Nigeria at the launch of the COVID19 vaccination ceremony which held at the Trauma center, National Hospital Abuja today March 5 has assured that he feels good.

The vaccine was administered to Dr Ngong by the Executive Director of the NPHCDA, Dr Faisal Shuaib.

According to Dr Ngong, he has always dreamt of taking the vaccine and he is happy that it is finally here and Nigerians are going to take part in it.

He also added that if his father had taken the vaccine months ago, he wouldn’t have died.

Dr Ngong said;

“You can see, I just took the vaccine now and I feel good. I have dreamt of taking the vaccine and I have taken the vaccine today. We’ve been at the forefront of the COVID-19 fight here in National Hospital at the Isolation Centre under the able leadership of the National Hospital,” said the medical doctor.

“They’ve provided everything we need for this fight. We’ve lost some, we’ve got some and we are happy we are getting the vaccines now in Nigeria. I think that is about the best news we’ve heard since. I only wished my dad had had this vaccine, maybe months ago or so. We lost him but we thank God, and the fight is still on and we will win.”
