“The North has more than what it takes to respond to any kind of aggression and hatred”- Governor Matawalle warns against attack on Northerners in the South

The governor of Zamfara state, Bello Matawalle, has condemned the attacks of Northerners residing in different states of the South.

Matawalle in a statement on Thursday, April 8, accused Northern leaders of being silent in the face of unwarranted attacks on Northerners residing in the South. He said their the silence should not in any way be taken as a sign of weakness by Southern leaders.

The governor stated that in any crisis situation, the South has more to lose in terms of its business interests in the North and the strategic nature they established themselves in the North than Northerners living in the South and so if Northerners and their means of livelihood will not be protected, accommodated and dignified anywhere they choose to stay in any part of the South, Southerners should NOT expect protection from the North as the North has more than what it takes to respond to any kind of aggression and hatred.

Matawalle in his statement also condemned the recent protest presidential aide, Reno Omokri and some Nigerians held at the Abuja house in London against President Buhari who is in the United Kingdom for his routine medical checkup. According to him, such a protest would not have been held if President Buhari was from the South.

  1. Can they harm the president in the London other than to protest, you people don’t know what you are doing

  2. Instead of talking on how to tackle the state of insecurity in the north, you are talking about the southern people. Are the one attacking you in the south?
