Tokyo 2020: Another Nigerian, Divine Oduduru gets disqualified

Divine Oduduru, Nigeria’s 100m medal hopeful, has been disqualified from the 100m heat for a false start at the ongoing 2020 Tokyo Olympics in Japan on Saturday.

Oduduru had the second false start and had to be disqualified from the race after America’s Fred Kerley broke the rule for the first false start in the 100m race.

The 24-year-old ran a personal best of 9.86 seconds in 2019 and 19.73 seconds in 2019 and then had 6.52 seconds in the 60m dash.

This follows the disqualification of Blessing Okagbare, from the Olympics for suspected doping earlier on Saturday.

Okagbare could not run in the semi-finals of the women’s 100m race.
