If Buhari fails to release Nnamdi Kanu, we will beg Tinubu to do so – Soludo

Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has made a commitment to urge the incoming administration of President-elect Bola Tinubu to release Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Soludo stated that if President Buhari fails to release Kanu before May 29, the date of his handover, he will appeal to Tinubu to take action in this regard.

Throughout his tenure, Soludo has consistently appealed to President Buhari for the release of Kanu, who is currently detained at the Department of State Services (DSS).

In April, Soludo had written a letter to President Buhari requesting Kanu’s release.

However, Soludo expressed optimism that his previous letters appealing for Kanu’s release were also copied to Tinubu.

During an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Friday, Soludo stated, “The Attorney General is also copied in this letter, and if President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration fails to seize this opportunity to rise above other considerations and act as a statesman, if the president fails to do so, we will pursue the same cause with the incoming administration.”
