Choosing only one wife might prevent men from going to heaven – Kenyan Singer, Bahati opines

Kenyan singer Bahati expressed his support for polygamy. Speaking during a cooking session with his worker Baite in a lightheartedly titled segment called “men’s corner”, Bahati questioned pastors who promote the idea of men having only one wife, asking for specific biblical references that limit polygamy.

“Why do pastors nowadays tell us to have only one wife. These pastors should show us in the Bible where God said we must have only one wife, he said

Bahati who further claimed that monogamy might stop some men from not going to heaven, pointed out that biblical figures like David and Solomon were known to have multiple wives.

“I feel like something that might prevent men from going to heaven is choosing to have only one wife. God will ask why I allowed David and Solomon to have multiple wives, but you chose to have just one.”

In the midst of their conversation, Bahati’s wife, Diana, joined in, and he turned to her, asking, “Babe, do you believe Solomon, the wisest man in the Bible, is in heaven?”

When Diana confirmed her belief that Solomon is indeed in heaven, Bahati responded by suggesting that having multiple wives may not necessarily impact one’s spiritual destiny.

Despite his employee’s firm stance on monogamy, Bahati mentioned that according to his understanding, in heaven, there will be no marriages. He referred to a quote from Jesus, indicating that people in heaven will be engaged in joyful activities such as singing and enjoying honey and milk.
