Ministerial nominee: My Journey doesn’t end here – Maryam Shetty speaks after replacement

Maryam Shettima, a former ministerial nominee remains hopeful that her removal from the roster of ministerial nominees will not mark the conclusion of her political journey. Senate President Godswill Akpabio had on Friday read a communication from President Bola Tinubu, urging the assembly to substitute Maryam Shetty with her peer, Mariya Mahmoud.

Maryam Shetty, who was present at the National Assembly complex for her evaluation on Friday, learned of the alteration in plans. In a statement issued on Saturday, she conveyed her appreciation to the President for selecting her before this unforeseen turn of events.

She shared that this turn of events will not dampen her increasing aspiration to contribute to the nation to the best of her abilities.

“Even with this unexpected twist, my gratitude to President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for considering me for such an esteemed position remains undiminished.

“The journey doesn’t end here; I believe this is a mere stepping stone, the best is yet to come. My resolve to serve my beloved country, Nigeria, in any capacity I can, is stronger than ever.

“I would like to assure my incredible supporters that this is not an end, it is the dawn of a new era”.
