World Athletics Championships: Tobi Amusan cruises into 100m semi-finals

Nigerian Athlete, Tobi Amusan conveyed her delight following her successful advancement to the semi-finals of the women’s 100-meter hurdles in Budapest on Tuesday.

Amusan achieved victory in her qualifying heat for the women’s 100-meter hurdles, thereby securing a place in the semi-finals.

Despite a sluggish start off the blocks, the 26-year-old athlete, recognized for her world record time of 12.12 seconds, managed to ease into a time of 12.48 seconds, marking her as the third fastest competitor on that particular evening.

“I am just thankful I am here in Budapest and able to race, using my talent,” she said after the race.

“It has not been the best, but I am here. I tried to stay as relaxed as possible (through the uncertainty) and do what my coach tells me. So, here I am.”

Amusan had a provisional anti-doping suspension lifted on Thursday.

But Amusan could still face an appeal that could potentially reinstate the ban.
