Gombe Governor orders closure of Nightclubs in the state over immoral and criminal activities

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe state has issued a directive for the immediate closure of all nightclubs, commonly referred to as Gala Houses, within the state. The decision, communicated through a statement on Monday, August 28, by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, mandates security agencies to ensure strict adherence to this directive.

The move comes in response to numerous complaints from the public about the continuous immoral, criminal activities, and security breaches taking place in these establishments. Some of the affected Gala Houses include Jamia Gidan Wanka, situated at Mile 3 Yola Road, Gombe; White House Theatre (Babban Gida) located at New Mile 3 Yola Road, Gombe; Gidan Lokaci General Merchant located at Mile 3 Reservoir Road, Gombe; and Farin Gida Entertainment II situated at Wuro Karal, Kalshingi Road, Gombe, among others.
