Tobi Amusan wins third consecutive Diamond League trophy

Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan secured her third consecutive Diamond League trophy, triumphing in the fiercely competitive 100m hurdles event with a record time of 12:33 seconds on the night of Sunday, September 17, 2023.

Jasmine Camacho-Quin from Puerto Rico clinched second place with a timing of 12.38 seconds, followed by Kendra Harrison from the US in third with a time of 12.44 seconds, and the world champion Danielle Williams from Jamaica finishing fourth with a time of 12.47 seconds.

Amusan set this record at the Eugene, Oregon, USA competition, where she also earned the world title in 2022. She first claimed the Diamond League trophy in 2021 with a time of 12.42 seconds and successfully defended her title the following year.

With her outstanding performance on Sunday, Amusan made history as the second woman in Diamond League history, following Dawn Nelson-Harper, to achieve a hat-trick of 100m hurdles titles.
