I stopped Mohbad’s father from burying him at midnight – Baale of Ikorodu

Oba Kabiru Shotobi, the Baale of Gberigbe community in Ikorodu, Lagos State, disclosed that he was the one who prevented James Aloba, the father of the late singer Ilerioluwa Olademeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, from burying his son’s body at midnight.

Mohbad passed away in a controversial manner on September 12, 2023, and was interred the next day in Ikorodu. The abrupt burial sparked widespread criticism, both online and offline, with many expressing disapproval of the family’s decision to proceed without an autopsy. Addressing the matter in a viral video, Oba Shotobi stated that Mohbad could have been buried earlier if he had not intervened, as the deceased’s father had intended to conduct the burial at midnight.
